Basketball Recap: Macksville's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Macksville extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Diego Esparza. The Macksville Mustangs rang in the new year with a 66-54 victory over the Hodgeman County Longhorns on Friday thanks in part to Esparza, who went 12 for 27 on his way to 37 points in addition to eight assists and four steals. The contest was his 15th in a row with at least ten points.

Macksville pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Hodgeman County, they moved to 6-1 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Macksville will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cunningham at 7:30 p.m. Cunningham has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Hodgeman County, they will head out to square off against Pawnee Heights at 8:00 p.m. on January 10th. Hodgeman County is facing Pawnee Heights at the right time seeing as Pawnee Heights is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
