Softball Game Preview: S & S Consolidated Rams vs. Boyd Yellowjackets

For the second straight game, S & S Consolidated will face off against Boyd. The Rams will challenge the Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (S & S Consolidated 1.1, Boyd 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

S & S Consolidated is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Boyd 2-1. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 21, 2023, but that streak is no more.

For Boyd's part, Abby Atkinson put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over 6.1 innings pitched. Atkinson has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Boyd's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 28-5-2. As for S & S Consolidated, their victory bumped their record up to 25-1.
