Last Thursday, Eastlake lost to Sage Creek on the road by a 65-46 margin. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 458th, while the Bobcats are ranked 192nd).

Eastlake better keep an eye on Devin Hamilton. He was instrumental in Montgomery's win, going 16 of 19 on his way to 34 points and seven rebounds. Hamilton's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xair Mendez, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 18 points.
Montgomery's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.2 points. As for Eastlake, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Eastlake was taken down by Montgomery 70-33 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Sanchez, who shot 4-for-5 from deep and dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. Now that Eastlake knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
