The Downey Christian Patriots typically have all the answers at home, but on Tuesday the Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech Tigers proved too difficult a challenge. Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech walked away with a 63-50 win over Downey Christian. The victory was all the more spectacular given Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Downey Christian is ranked 14th).
Adiel Lopez was a one-man wrecking crew for Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech as he dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds. The contest was Lopez 's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Rodriguez , who scored 17 points.
Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Downey Christian, they bumped their record down to 7-1 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech will square off against Potter's House Christian Blue at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Downey Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pathways at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th.
