Basketball Recap: Pleasant Grove Triumphs

Pleasant Grove won the last time they faced Cosumnes Oaks, and Pharrell Williams did his part to make sure it happened again. The Pleasant Grove Eagles walked away with a 68-59 victory over the Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack on Friday thanks in part to Williams, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds. He is becoming a predictor of Pleasant Grove's success: when he posts at least ten boards the team is 2-1 (and 7-18 when he doesn't).

The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Breslin, who went 8-for-12 on his way to 16 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Pleasant Grove's win bumped their record up to 9-19. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 16 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-21 record this season.

As of now, neither Pleasant Grove nor Cosumnes Oaks have any future games scheduled.
