Recap: Van Horn Eagles vs. Dell City Cougars
In what's become a running theme this season, the Van Horn Eagles gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They claimed a resounding 40-12 victory over Dell City at home. The victory was familiar territory for Van Horn who now have five in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Van Horn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Malia Bermudez, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Bermudez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Taylor Martinez was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds.
Van Horn pushed their record up to 16-7 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Dell City, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Van Horn the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Balmorhea at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Dell City, they will head out on the road to challenge Big Bend at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Big Bend is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
