Volleyball Recap: Academy at Palumbo Gets the Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Academy at Palumbo had no problem doing just that on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Carver High School of Engineering & Science 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Griffin have posted since April 11th.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (112-103) Academy at Palumbo actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 19-25, 27-25, 15-25, 27-25, 15-12.

Academy at Palumbo can attribute much of their success to Jonas Milson, who had 15 digs and three aces. That's the most digs Milson has posted since back in April. Yinle Chen also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

The victory got Academy at Palumbo back to even at 10-10. As for Carver High School of Engineering & Science, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Looking ahead, Academy at Palumbo will take on Northeast at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Griffin surely won't give up without a fight. Carver High School of Engineering & Science does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
