Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Paityn Fritz and Tamia Cheeks Lead South to Victory

South won the last time they faced Haysville Campus and things went their way on Tuesday too. Everything went the South Cougars' way against the Haysville Campus Colts as the South Cougars made off with a 50-29 win. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 21 points or more this season.

Leading South to victory were Tamia Cheeks and Paityn Fritz. Cheeks went 7 of 10 en route to 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals, while Fritz almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Fritz has scored at least a third of South's points. Another player making a difference was Elle Barth, who posted eight points.

South is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Haysville Campus, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

South will venture away from home to challenge Hutchinson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. South is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Haysville Campus, they will take on Valley Center at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
