Softball Recap: Reeltown Comes Up Short

If Reeltown was riding high fresh off their 17-8 takedown of Horseshoe Bend on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rebels came up short against the Saint James Trojans on Friday, falling 13-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rebels of the 8-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Reeltown's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Saint James, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 39-6 record this season.

The future could be bright for both Reeltown and Saint James: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Rebels will look to extend Elmore County's three-game losing streak when they meet at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Saint James will try to hand Handley their sixth-straight defeat when the two meet at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
