Softball Game Preview: Fieldston Eagles vs. Nightingale-Bamford Nighthawks

The Fieldston Eagles will take on the Nightingale-Bamford Nighthawks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Fieldston is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They fell 7-3 to Hackley.

Meanwhile, Nightingale-Bamford had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 10-9 W against the Owls. That's two games straight that the Nighthawks have won by just one run.

Sonya Elkus was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Majoros, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Nightingale-Bamford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits every time they've taken the field this season.
