Football Recap: Wahama Starts Season with Win at Home

Wahama gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 79-40 win over the East Hardy Cougars. The White Falcons haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Reezin Stitt and Trace Simpkins. Stitt gained 347 total yards and six touchdowns while Simpkins rushed for 168 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. The dominant performance also gave Stitt a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (five).

Wahama has already played their next contest, a 28-13 win against Tyler on the 5th. As for East Hardy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 56-36 defeat against Pendleton County on the 5th.
