Basketball Game Preview: Western Panthers vs. West Lafayette Red Devils

The Western Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the West Lafayette Red Devils at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with nine defeats in a row, Western turned things around against Tipton on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 50-33 win over the Blue Devils.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Lafayette). They took down Logansport 53-36 two weeks ago. The score was all tied up 19-19 at the break, but the Red Devils were the better team in the second half.

West Lafayette's record now sits at 3-10. As for Western, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11.

Western beat West Lafayette 65-53 in their previous matchup back in January of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Western since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
