Recap: Orland Trojans vs. Gridley Bulldogs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Orland Trojans had no problem doing just that on Friday. They really took it to Gridley for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-6 victory at home. The victory was familiar territory for Orland who now have ten in a row.

Leading Orland to victory were Diego Rico and Manny Rodriguez. Rico rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, while Rodriguez gained 163 total yards and four touchdowns. Rodriguez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards.

Orland has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Gridley, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.

Orland will be playing at home against Lassen at 7:00 p.m. on November 25th. Lassen will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Gridley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
