Basketball Recap: Olympic Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Barri Terry and Chaya James

Olympic lost against Myers Park back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Olympic Trojans came up short against the Myers Park Mustangs, falling 51-31. The game marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Olympic's loss came despite strong showings from Chaya James and Barri Terry. James posted nine points along with seven boards and three blocks, while Terry put up eight points and three steals. James is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last five games she's played.

Myers Park found their leader in sophomore Amani Barner, who went 9 of 15 on her way to 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barner has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chayla McDaniel, who earned four points in addition to six assists and five steals.

Olympic moved to 6-9 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Myers Park, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-10.

Olympic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 43-25 defeat against Ardrey Kell on the 14th. Myers Park has also already played their next game, a 51-33 win against Berry on the 14th.
