Recap: Kell Longhorns vs. Chattahoochee Cougars
The Kell Longhorns came tearing into Friday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Chattahoochee, posting a 48-0 win on the road. Given Kell's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Chattahoochee is ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bryce Clavon had an outrageously good game as he threw for 264 yards and five touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Kemari Nix also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Kell's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Chattahoochee's QB won't forget Jojo Hall anytime soon given Hall sacked him twice.
Kell has yet to lose a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-8 North Springs and 2-8 Pope (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 28.9% over those games). As for Chattahoochee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
Kell will be playing in front of their home fans against Cass at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cass is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Chattahoochee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
