Softball Game Preview: Clarksville Indians vs. Rockford Warriors

The Clarksville Indians will venture away from home to square off against the Rockford Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Clarksville has five straight victories, Rockford has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Clarksville's win against Beckman wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Trailblazers 6-5. The six-run effort marked the Indians' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Rockford's offense. They lost 10-0 to Janesville on Friday.

Clarksville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Rockford, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went Clarksville's way against Rockford in their previous matchup back in June of 2019, as Clarksville made off with a 22-0 win. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
