Basketball Recap: Brackenridge Piles Up the Points Against Edison

Brackenridge won the last time they faced Edison and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Brackenridge Eagles blew past the Edison Golden Bears, posting a 70-27 victory. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.

Brackenridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sarah Arriaga, who went 10 of 20 on her way to 25 points in addition to eight boards and six steals. The dominant performance gave Arriaga a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlynn Cortinas, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards.

Despite the loss, Edison still got an impressive performance from Malajah Gray, who posted six points and nine rebounds.

The victory got Brackenridge back to even at 11-11. As for Edison, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-14.

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Brackenridge Eagles face off against the Highlands Owls at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Brackenridge's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups. As for Edison, they will square off against Sam Houston at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Sam Houston will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Edison surely won't give up without a fight.
