Soccer Recap: Sequoyah Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Sequoyah and Creekview meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Sequoyah Chiefs fell just short of the Creekview Grizzlies by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Chiefs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 40th).

Sequoyah's goal came courtesy of Anastyn Lanphier, who's now up to two this season.

Sequoyah's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Creekview, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sequoyah will host Pope at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Creekview, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marietta at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
