Basketball Game Preview: Dunbar Wolverines vs. Greenon Knights

The Dunbar Wolverines will take on the Greenon Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dunbar will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Dunbar will bounce into Saturday's matchup after beating Trotwood-Madison, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. Dunbar took down Trotwood-Madison 50-36 on Saturday.

Dunbar's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Donisha Davis led the charge by dropping a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Davis is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 25 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aunesty Ramsey, who went 7 of 14 on her way to 17 points and four steals.

Dunbar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 17 offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Greenon won against Madison Plains last Saturday with 49 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. Greenon secured a 49-45 W over Mechanicsburg. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Greenon pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points over those games. As for Dunbar, their record now sits at 17-5.
