After flying high against Providence Academy last Thursday, Pea Ridge came back down to earth. The Pea Ridge Blackhawks took a 66-49 bruising from the Melbourne Bearkatz on Friday. The Blackhawks' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Pea Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Melbourne, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Pea Ridge will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Green Forest at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Melbourne, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-40 defeat against Arkadelphia on the 28th.
