Recap: South Plaquemines Hurricanes vs. Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy Swamp Owls
The South Plaquemines Hurricanes's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They secured a 62-56 W over Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy. With that win, South Plaquemines brought their scoring average up to 50 points per game.
Among those leading the charge was Kameron Stephenson, who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Byrsten Prout, who scored 11 points.
Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Antonio Castro, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Christian Rogan, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
South Plaquemines' victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Plaquemines will take on GEO Next Generation at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on January 20th.
