Recap: Gretna East Griffins vs. Lincoln High Links
The Gretna East Griffins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 63-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lincoln High.
Several Griffins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Drayke Brown, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Hawley, who scored 14 points.
Gretna East's loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Lincoln High, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-14 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gretna East will face off against Bryan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bryan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday. As for Lincoln High, they will head out on the road to square off against Norfolk at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Lincoln High is ranked 165th, while Norfolk is ranked 179th).
