Basketball Game Preview: Wamego Red Raiders vs. Concordia Panthers

Wamego and Concordia are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Wamego Red Raiders will challenge the Concordia Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wamego has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with six straight defeats, while Concordia will come in with three straight victories.

Wamego came up short against Abilene on Tuesday, falling 54-29. While losing is never fun, the Red Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Cowboys are ranked 80th).

Meanwhile, Concordia beat Marysville 63-54 on Tuesday.

Concordia pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Wamego, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

Wamego ended up a good deal behind Concordia in their previous meeting back in January, losing 67-53. Can Wamego avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
