Preview: Tallulah Falls Indians vs. Elbert County Blue Devils
Tallulah Falls is on a five-game streak of home losses, Elbert County an eight-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Tallulah Falls Indians will take on the Elbert County Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Tuesday, Tallulah Falls came up short against Rabun County and fell 62-54. Tallulah Falls has not had much luck with Rabun County recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, Elbert County pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The contest between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Elbert County falling 79-61. They were down 62-40 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite the defeat, Elbert County got a solid performance out of Grady Jones, who scored 29 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Landon Hill, who scored 13 points.
Tallulah Falls has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Elbert County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15.
Tallulah Falls strolled past Elbert County in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 70-52. Will Tallulah Falls repeat their success, or does Elbert County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
