It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Northern Guilford ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They slipped by the New Bern Bears 28-27. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Nighthawks.
Jaxson Kemp was a one-man wrecking crew for Northern Guilford as he rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 117 yards and a touchdown. Kemp's longest rush was for an impressive 67 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
