Colfax had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Spring Valley Cardinals as they made off with a 10-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-0 back in April.

Laikyn Beyer made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Colfax let Lyric Nichols and Avah Elmer run wild. Nichols got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Elmer went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave Elmer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynn Sikora, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI.

Colfax was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in five consecutive games.

Colfax's record now sits at 12-3. As for Spring Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Colfax wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 13-9 win against St. Croix Central on the 9th. As for Spring Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 13-11 defeat against Clear Lake on the 9th.
