Basketball Recap: Denver Waldorf Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Denver Waldorf had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They skirted past the Belleview Christian Bruins 55-53. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 72-53 win the Bruins walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Denver Waldorf's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cayden Quinn, who went 9 of 16 en route to 25 points along with six assists and six boards. Quinn is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 27 games he's played dating back to last season. Henry Lottridge was another key player, going 5 for 11 on his way to 12 points in addition to seven boards and six steals.

Belleview Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kentrell Beasley, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Those three steals gave Beasley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Polson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards.

Denver Waldorf's record is now 4-1. As for Belleview Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Pikes Peak Christian the next time they take the court. Denver Waldorf will head out to face Pikes Peak Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Belleview Christian will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
