Massachusetts Division 3 title winner earns top spot among schools with less than 1,000 students.

Taconic (Pittsfield, Mass.) finished its season undefeated (19-0) with a 14-10 win over Medfield in the Massachusetts Division 3 state finals over the weekend. The victory helped the Braves rise to the No. 1 spot in the final small school national high school baseball rankings. The rankings are based solely on the results of the MaxPreps computer ratings.

Behind Taconic were Wayne Country Day (Goldsboro, N.C.), the 2A champion from the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association; Mount Paran Christian (Kennesaw, Ga.), the champion of the Georgia Class A Private Schools tournament, and Roff (Okla.), the Oklahoma Class B state champion.

Roff was the only small school also included in the MaxPreps Top 25 national baseball rankings, finishing the year at No. 9. The Tigers went 33-0 and won the Oklahoma Class B title with a 12-2 victory over Red Oak.

The small school rankings are based on the MaxPreps Computer rantings and include teams that play in state playoff divisions that include schools with less than 1,000 students. Teams are listed with their season record and their MaxPreps computer rating.
