Volleyball Recap: Campo Verde Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Gilbert Christian

Campo Verde faced Gilbert Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Coyotes fell 2-0 to the Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on Friday.

Campbell Hollister paced Campo Verde's offense, picking up five kills. Hollister got some help from Riley Swezey and her six assists.

Campo Verde's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Gilbert Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Campo Verde wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 1-0 victory against Show Low on the 30th. Hopefully Gilbert Christian paid attention to the Coyotes' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Coyotes at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday.
