Volleyball Recap: GRACE Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Olivia Campbell and Izzy West

GRACE Christian had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 2-0 to the Asheville Christian Academy Lions. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

GRACE Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Izzy West and Olivia Campbell. West had seven assists and six digs, while Campbell had five kills, five digs, and three aces. Campbell has been hot, having posted five or more kills the last six times she's played.

Leading Asheville Christian Academy to victory were Caroline Simpson and Rachel Bass. Simpson had 18 assists and three aces, while Bass had ten digs. Those three aces gave Simpson a new career-high.

GRACE Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Coastal Christian on the 8th. As for Asheville Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Calvary Day School on the 8th.
