Baseball Game Preview: Scott Eagles vs. Holmes Bulldogs

The Scott Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Holmes Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Scott is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Scott was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Bellevue on Friday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Tigers. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Jake Seeger was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Seeger was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carson Bleha, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryan Manherz, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Scott kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bellevue only managed five.

Meanwhile, Holmes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against Beechwood, falling 15-0.

Holmes' loss dropped their record down to 1-7-1. As for Scott, their record now sits at 3-6.

Everything went Scott's way against Holmes in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Scott made off with an 18-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
