Basketball Game Preview: Lipan Indians vs. Martins Mill Mustangs

Having just played yesterday, the Lipan Indians will jump right back in to play the Martins Mill Mustangs at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lipan is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Kountze just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 65-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions.

Meanwhile, Martins Mill entered their contest against Tatum on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Martins Mill fell just short of Tatum by a score of 61-59. The loss put an end to the Mustangs' undefeated start to the season.

Lipan will have to contain Jak Kinder as he made an impact in Martins Mill's last game. He went 7 of 13 from beyond the arc on his way to 26 points. The game was Kinder's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Marsh, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.

Lipan's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Martins Mill, their loss ended a 21-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-1.

Lipan came out on top in a nail-biter against Martins Mill in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 41-38. Will Lipan repeat their success, or does Martins Mill have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
