Softball Recap: Legacy Gets the Win

Legacy lost to Grandview back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Lightning came out on top against the Wolves by a score of 11-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lightning.

Kady Cosyns spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and seven unearned) runs on 11 hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Prisca Smolens, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Megan Sandusky was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Legacy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Legacy's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Grandview, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-7.

Legacy has already played their next contest, a 14-1 win against Fairview on the 25th. As for Grandview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 12-0 victory against Smoky Hill on the 25th.
