Althoff Catholic was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Cahokia on Friday. The Crusaders never let the Comanches get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won eight contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Alec Underwood looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Althoff Catholic: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 10-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Althoff Catholic got a massive performance out of Sam Flynn, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two hits gave Flynn a new career-high. Tyler Pollock was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Althoff Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are 7-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Althoff Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Cahokia, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Coming up, Althoff Catholic will face off against Christian Brothers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cahokia, they will venture away from home to challenge East St. Louis at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
