Softball Recap: Scottsdale Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Scottsdale Christian Academy fell 9-4 to the Phoenix Christian Cougars on Monday. The Eagles have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Scottsdale Christian Academy got a big performance out of Campbell Reader, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Caitlyn Troxell, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Scottsdale Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Phoenix Christian, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Looking ahead, Scottsdale Christian Academy will welcome Chandler Prep at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Scottsdale Christian Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: Chandler Prep has averaged an impressive 14.4 runs per game this season. As for Phoenix Christian, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Madison Highland Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Madison Highland Prep has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 26 runs per game on average), something Phoenix Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of.
