Basketball Recap: Christ Our Rock Lutheran Takes a Loss

Christ Our Rock Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Father McGivney Catholic Griffins and fell 67-6. The Silver Stallions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-2.

Father McGivney Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Layla Tobin, who made all 7 shots she took racking up 16 points and five assists. Zoe Oller was another key player, going 6 of 7 on her way to 12 points and six rebounds.

Christ Our Rock Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Father McGivney Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Christ Our Rock Lutheran will welcome Maryville Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Father McGivney Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Granite City at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
