Softball Recap: Columbus East Comes Up Short

Columbus East came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-1 to the Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs. The defeat continues a trend for the Olympians in their meetings with the Grizzly Cubs: they've now lost eight in a row.

Columbus East saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaydalynn Hampton, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.

Columbus East's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Franklin Community, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Columbus East beat the Grizzly Cubs by a score of 5-4 later that day.
