Basketball Recap: Jonathan Holliday's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Itawamba Agricultural over Tupelo

Itawamba Agricultural came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Tupelo Golden Wave, falling 61-36. The Indians were not able to make up for their loss to the Golden Wave from their previous meeting back in December of 2021.

Itawamba Agricultural's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonathan Holliday, who posted nine points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Calon Shumpert, who scored 12 points.

Itawamba Agricultural's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Tupelo, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Itawamba Agricultural is taking a road trip to take on West Union at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tupelo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Center Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
