Baseball Recap: Blackman Victorious

Blackman's tournament run continued when they took on Glenbrook South on Tuesday. Blackman had just enough and edged out Glenbrook South 7-5. That's two games straight that the Blaze have won by exactly two runs.

Austen Leban was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kenneth Colon, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

The victory made it two in a row for Blackman and bumps their season record up to 12-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Glenbrook South, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Blackman didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-3 victory against Oak Park-River Forest on the 25th. As for Glenbrook South, they will be taking part in a tournament against Oxford at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Oxford's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Glenbrook South's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
