Soccer Game Preview: Carmel vs. Soledad

The Carmel Padres will square off against the Soledad Aztecs at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Soledad will be up against a hot Carmel squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Padres never let Monte Vista Christian get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Friday. Carmel wouldn't have won without Jose Valdez, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, Soledad entered their contest against Ceiba College Preparatory Academy on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Aztecs fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 1-0. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Soledad couldn't quite close it out.

Carmel's victory bumped their record up to 7-3-1. As for Soledad, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2-3.
