Football Recap: Fitzgerald Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Fitzgerald played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 30-7 to the Worth County Rams. The Purple Hurricane were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Worth County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lyndon Worthy out in front who threw for 165 yards and two TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes. What's more, Worthy racked up 21 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in August of 2024. Worth County's leading receiver Jaquaveon Nelson was Worthy's top target yet again, picking up 77 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

This is the second loss in a row for Fitzgerald and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Worth County, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Fitzgerald wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-14 defeat against Appling County on the 26th. As for Worth County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 49-0 win against Brantley County on the 26th.
