Preview: Elsinore Tigers vs. Temescal Canyon Titans

The Elsinore Tigers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Temescal Canyon Titans at 7:00 p.m. Temescal Canyon took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Elsinore, who comes in off a win.

After only ten points in their last game, Elsinore made sure to put some points up on the board against JW North on Friday. Elsinore strolled past JW North with points to spare, taking the game 42-27. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but Elsinore was the (much) better team in the second half.

Elsinore had a senior duo take command as Julian Santoyo rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns and Andrew Irvin gained 118 total yards and two touchdowns. Irvin was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 51 yards.

Elsinore's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Joey Garcia and Kalui Costa who racked up four sacks between them.

Meanwhile, Temescal Canyon fell victim to Orange Vista's stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Coyotes at home and fell 42-0. While losing is never fun, Temescal Canyon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 591st, while Orange Vista is ranked 141st).

Elsinore's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Temescal Canyon, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Elsinore was able to grind out a solid win over Temescal Canyon in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, winning 17-9. Will Elsinore repeat their success, or does Temescal Canyon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
