Basketball Game Preview: Menendez Falcons vs. St. Augustine Yellow Jackets

The Menendez Falcons are taking a road trip to square off against the St. Augustine Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Wednesday, Menendez was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 56-52 to Westside.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for St. Augustine on Tuesday. They walked away with a 43-33 victory over Nease. Given the Yellow Jackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Panthers are ranked 349th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Menendez dropped their record down to 3-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for St. Augustine, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Things could have been worse for Menendez, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 47-31 loss to St. Augustine when the teams last played back in January. Can Menendez avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
