Baseball Recap: Benjamin Takes a Loss

Benjamin lost against Montverde Academy back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Benjamin took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Montverde Academy. That's two games in a row now that the Buccaneers have lost by exactly three runs.

Brandon Owens made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

This is the second loss in a row for Benjamin and nudges their season record down to 11-9. As for Montverde Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Benjamin will square off against Saint Andrew's at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Montverde Academy, they will take on Winter Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
