Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Zach Libertosky and Davion Tan-Nguyen Lead St. Edward to Victory

Upper Arlington typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday St. Edward proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Golden Bears, sneaking past 3-2.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was St. Edward who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-18, 14-25, 25-21, 18-25, 15-8.

Leading St. Edward to victory were Davion Tan-Nguyen and Zach Libertosky. Tan-Nguyen had nine digs and two aces, while Libertosky had 31 digs and five assists. Those five assists gave Libertosky a new career-high. Siddeeq Sabur also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.

St. Edward's win bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Upper Arlington, they dropped their record down to 14-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

St. Edward wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against St. Vincent-St. Mary on the 6th. As for Upper Arlington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Westerville North on the 5th.
