Softball Recap: Woden Gets the Win

Woden proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 11) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Chireno Owls, sneaking past 5-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Addison Taylor was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That home run was her first of the season.

Woden's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Chireno, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Woden will square off against Timpson at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Woden 2.9, Timpson 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Chireno, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Garrison at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chireno is facing Garrison at the right time seeing as Garrison is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
