Baseball Recap: Clarkstown North's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Clarkstown North had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Tappan Zee on Saturday. The Rams put the hurt on the Dutchmen with a sharp 9-3 win. Considering the Rams have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

JD Santulli made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Connor Mullin was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. Jack Kavanagh was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Clarkstown North's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-6. As for Tappan Zee, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
