Basketball Recap: Catholic Central Comes Up Short

Catholic Central managed to slip by Troy Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Irish lost 64-39 to the Eagles on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 621st, while the Eagles are ranked 204th).

Loss or not, Catholic Central got some senior leadership from Brody Adams and Keegan Guenther. Adams went 7-for-9 to rack up 15 points and five rebounds, while Guenther dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards. Adams is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played. Berkeley Little was another key player, putting up four points and three steals.

Catholic Central has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Troy Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-3.

Catholic Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-69 defeat against Greeneview on the 6th. As for Troy Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 77-39 win against Riverside on the 4th.
