Softball Recap: Awaken Christian Takes a Loss

Awaken Christian and Lincoln County squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Awaken Christian had to settle for second. They lost 10-4 to the Lynx. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lynx this season, with their most recent defeat being a 5-3 loss two weeks ago.

Kaylee Rasmussen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Christina Tieman, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Awaken Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. As for Lincoln County, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Awaken Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lincoln County, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-4 defeat against White Pine on the 9th.
