Basketball Recap: Maple Heights Comes Up Short

Maple Heights was the 46-31 winner over Garrett Morgan when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Maple Heights Mustangs lost to the Garrett Morgan Falcons on the road by a 49-34 margin on Monday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Morgan Wilson was Maple Heights' leading scorer, having posted seven points.

Garrett Morgan's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fatuma Abdi, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 boards. Abdi is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 11 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nailah Majeed, who posted 17 points.

Maple Heights now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Garrett Morgan, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season.

Maple Heights didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 40-21 loss against North Olmsted on the 15th. As for Garrett Morgan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-14 defeat against Avon Lake on the 15th.
